Long before the days of digital home studios, multi-tracking, and computer editing, these recordings captured the true beginning of the journey. Recorded over thirty years ago, this album represents vocal performance in its purest, most honest form: one voice, one microphone, and the truth of the moment.
Armed only with a trusty Shure SM-58 microphone and a Peavey Protégé system, these tracks were captured live straight to cassette tape—eleven of the twelve songs performed and preserved in a single, unedited take. There was no studio magic, no overdubs, no punch-ins, and no safety net. What you hear is simply the breath, the heart, and the raw emotion of a singer stepping up to the microphone and laying it all on the line.
Decades later, transferred from that original magnetic tape to digital disc, these recordings remain a source of immense pride. They are a timeless snapshot of a vocalist finding his stride—reminding us that genuine soul, passion, and great songs don’t need polish when they come straight from the heart.
